Beliefs
What we believe
- God is holy, just and good.
- The Bible is the inspired Word of God for all mankind.
- The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, He became man and died for sinners on the cross. His death is the only sacrifice for sins.
- Despite God’s goodness, man rebelled and sin entered the world resulting in death, a breakdown of the relationship between God and man and ultimately, eternal separation from God.
- He arose bodily from the dead and returned to heaven.
- Repentance toward God and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, is the only way of salvation.
- Through faith and repentance we can be eternally saved and spared the judgment we deserve for our sin.
- We must believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that His sacrifice is sufficient for our forgiveness and the only way of receiving God’s salvation.
- Repenting is turning away from sin to seek a life that honours God through his power.
- He assures those who truly believe in Him of forgiveness of sin and eternal life.
- Through accepting God’s free gift of salvation we have new life.
- Because our salvation is based on the person and work of Christ alone, it cannot be lost.
- We are made the children of God.
- We have eternal life, the sure hope of heaven and the Holy Spirit indwelling us for our lives on earth.
- He will soon return to take His own people from Earth to Heaven (the Rapture) before He judges the nation (the Tribulation).
- He will reign on earth for a thousand years (the Millennium) before the final defeat of Satan
- Everyone will meet Him as their Saviour (if they know Him) or as their Judge (if they reject Him).
We are a group of Christians (non-denominational) whose object is to worship God and spread His word to others.
At Kempston Gospel Hall we believe that God speaks to us through the Bible. Its message is profound and wonderful. It tells us that life is more than what we can see and touch. It answers those questions which we all have, explains how God can be known and how we can enjoy peace with Him through His Son. We can have a faith and a relationship with God through Jesus Christ that works practically in our daily lives, using the Bible as our guide.
We know for sure on the basis of God’s Word, the Bible, that our sins are forgiven, we will be in heaven at the end of life’s journey, and we know the Lord Jesus now as our companion and friend along the way. What did we do to deserve that? Absolutely nothing! We are living in the personal joyful confidence that ‘ the Son of God loved me, and gave himself for me.’
Does that sound presumptuous? Too good to be true? A dream world? Come and hear about the Jesus of the Bible. Learn why He and He alone is the source of eternal life, the way to heaven and the real resource for the meaning in life.
